Emissions Monitoring
Monitor, record and report on vessel emissions with ease.
With new legislation being introduced by the MEPC (Marine Environmental Protection Committee) of the IMO (International Maritime Organisation) vessel emissions are of significant interest to the marine industry. There is already the agreement to implement the EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) for new builds and the SEEMP (Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan) to be enforced 1st January 2013.
The question becomes; how do owners and operators quantify emissions?
The Emissions Module of BMT SMARTSERVICES allows for vessel emissions, NOX, SOX and CO2, to be monitored, recorded and reported.
If already installed, emissions sensors can be connected directly to the on-board recording tool, SMARTVESSEL. Alternatively, industry standard formulae can be used to calculate emissions based on fuel consumption.
Now with the ability to monitor emissions live on-board and historically on-shore, Owners and Operators can monitor and report on NOX, SOX and CO2 production.
